The Why Me Ring is a small round signet ring engraved with a custom motif holding a red garnet, hand-set into the surface of the ring.

The Why Me Ring is part of the capsule collection Reflections. Rooted in tradition and inspired by the historical signet ring, Tom Wood has collaborated with the tattoo artist Guy Le Tatooer to shape the motifs of the collection. Drawing inspiration from Guy´s life spent traveling and absorbing diverse cultures across the globe, the collection mirrors people, places and memories.

Tom Wood uses European ring size standards, based on the ring’s inner circumference measured in millimetres. A size 54 corresponds to an inner circumference of approximately 54 mm. You can refer to our ring size conversion chart below if you know your size in other international standards.

Tom Wood ring measurements

Thicker rings, such as our classic signet styles, often require a slightly larger size than slim bands, as they sit more prominently on the finger. Please note that all our rings are handmade, and minor variations may occur between individual pieces.

Measuring your ring

If you have a ring you wish to measure, you can do this by measuring either the inner diameter or circumference. You can download the size guide and print it out here (without any scaling) and place your ring on to the round markers to find your correct ring size. You can also bring your ring to a jeweler to have it measured for you. If you are still uncertain about the ring size, we recommend having your finger measured at a local goldsmith.

Measure your finger

Your fingers normally change size depending on the time of day or season. In the summertime, fingers tend to be more swollen than during colder winter days. If you want to measure your fingers, try to find a time that feels «normal» to your fingers. If your knuckle is bigger than where you want your ring placed, try to find a measurement somewhere in the middle of the two.

Between ring sizes?

We normally advise you to choose the largest ring size for our signet rings if you are between sizes, whereas for our band rings we recommend choosing a size down, but it is always up to each individual to decide by trying the piece on and seeing what feels to be most comfortable.
