Jewellery Care & Sizing

Jewellery Sizing
Finding the right ring size may be tricky.
You can download the size guide and print it out (without any kind of scaling) to find your correct ring size.
If you still are unsure about which ring size to get, we would recommend having your finger measured at a local goldsmith.

Jewellery Care Instructions
In order to keep your jewellery looking shiny and new for years to come, special care is required. Avoid direct contact with water and chemical products (such as soap and perfume). Make-up, perfume and hairspray may dull the finish of your jewellery and cause discoloration or oxidation. The stones might as well get effected by damp conditions. Remove your jewellery when doing your household and do not wear your jewellery when in the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna/steam room or while bathing, showering or sleeping. Keep your jewellery away from all sources of heat.

925 sterling silver is a quite soft metal. Chunky jewellery made of silver, like Tom Wood signet rings, are easily exposed to collisions with other surfaces which creates dents and small scratches. Over time, these will slide into each other and the surface of the ring will become “softer” and the cuts become less visible. Scratches and small dents are not considered a defect, but just a sign of normal wear and tear.

Tom Wood only use natural stones which may result in different patterns and unique looks of the stone.
The stones might also come with different hardnesses, but all stones are fragile and might break or chip if they collide with a hard surface.

Our pearl jewellery needs to be handled with extra care. The pearls are prong set by hand, so make sure not to bump them into hard surfaces.

All items are treated with anti-tarnish treatment. Still, silver might tarnish (oxidize) over time.
To avoid this as much as possible, gently wipe your jewellery clean with a soft cloth after each wear to remove any dirt or oil. Silver polish can also be bought at any goldsmith.

To avoid scratching and rubbing, please store each item individually in provided Tom Wood jewellery boxes.
This also helps avoiding any exposure from direct sunlight which might cause the jewellery and stone to fade.

Tom Wood recommend annual service at a goldsmith who can professionally clean the jewellery and check clasps, mounts, setting and soldering.

Do not bend and pull chains, bangles or rings. Even how much you love your jewellery, you should not sleep with it.
Best of luck with your new Tom Wood piece!
