As the next major step in this responsible journey, we are proud to announce that all Tom Wood’s diamond products produced after June this year will exclusively feature 100% traceable, SCS-007 certified lab-grown diamonds. This is more than a new material; it is a milestone that allows us to guarantee a fully transparent and ethical origin for every stone, aligning our products perfectly with our vision for a more responsible future in the jewellery industry.

While mined diamonds have a rich history, their path from deep within the earth to a finished piece of jewellery is at times both complex and difficult to trace. By transitioning to our lab-grown diamonds, Tom Wood can guarantee a clear and ethical origin for every stone, significantly reducing our environmental impact and aligning our materials with the principles of modern luxury.

INNOVATION MEETS CRAFTMANSHIP
The craftsmanship of a diamond now goes beyond the traditional arts of cutting and polishing. With lab-grown diamonds, the creation of the stone itself is a feat of precision and technology. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to their mined counterparts. The only difference lies in their origin: they are created above ground rather than extracted from the earth. The process, known as Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), is a meeting of innovation and craft. It begins with a thin diamond seed placed in a sealed chamber. The chamber is heated and infused with carbon-rich gas. This gas then breaks down, allowing pure carbon atoms to bond to the seed, layer by meticulous layer. The result is a complete diamond, formed through an innovative process powered by 100% renewable energy, primarily from solar panels.
