In Focus
Some partnership are just the most natural thing in the world. Like our latest collaboration with our friend and Japanese fashion insider Kozue Akimoto. It's a celebration of a decade-long friendship and deep roots in a shared creative vision.
I'm a model based in Japan.
Its literal meaning is "healing," but personally, I chose this word to represent the process of recovery, regeneration, and building relationships. Because of this collaboration, now I associate Chiyu with my connection with Mona, and the process of building something together with Tom Wood.
It's a place to come back to, where everything is available, and the food is delicious.
When I walked around the city and rode the streetcars it felt strangely nostalgic, even though it was my first time visiting. Despite the cold weather, I had a warm and cozy experience. Mona hosted a dinner with family and dear friends which was also fantastic.
There are so many things I would love to do, but at the same time, I’d love to savor the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. Just zoning out with my cat, to refresh and relax. Or maybe spend endless time in the ocean.
Even when I lack confidence, I try to hold my head high and present myself with a poised attitude. I don’t see myself as a particular snobby person.
Accessories are one of my favourite items... I often wear the same pieces and rarely add new jewellery to my collection. The Chiyu rings are an exception and have found a place in my everyday stack.
I'm incredibly happy to have been able to create a collaborative product with Tom Wood. What makes it even more special is the backstory — it wasn't something we intentionally set out to create, but rather, it came to life from an unexpected incident: a dislocation. I love that unique episode behind its creation.
My father, Yokozuna Chiyonofuji, was a well known sumo wrestler, which meant that I spent most of my upbringing in the sumo ring. After my father passed away, we turned the place that was once used as an actual sumo training facility, into a chanko restaurant. It’s a place where people can enjoy chanko dishes that my father loved, while looking at the real dohyo (sumo ring) that was used back in the day.
Rick Owens. Fecal Matter. They are authentic and true to themselves, not pretending to be anything else.
To visit Africa. My parents traveled there, and they talked countless times about what an amazing journey it was. I'd love to visit someday and experience it for myself.
I would also love diving down to the ocean floor. I want to further my diving certifications and explore shipwrecks resting at the bottom of the sea, as well as discover sights I've never seen before.
In the end, my bucket list consists mainly of visiting new places and experiencing new things.
A perfect night owl.
Travel a lot and study English.
