Responsibility summit 2025

This past April, our Aoyama store in Tokyo hosted a pivotal evening. We gathered 60 industry leaders, change-makers, and forward-thinkers—voices we deeply admire—to address a fundamental challenge: advancing the luxury sector with enhanced responsibility, inclusivity, and clear intention.

The assembly was ignited by Iris Maria Alexis Van der Veken, Executive Director of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030. Her keynote, “Shaping the Future: Accelerating the Sustainability Agenda in the Watch and Jewellery Industry,” delivered a sharp and passionate call to action. It underscored a core truth: authentic change is realised when brands embed these principles into the fabric of their operations.
If one player doesn't do business well, it hits on the whole industry. And that's where there's a shared accountability.

We were also privileged to hear from Minoru Fukuda, Senior Partner at Kearney, who shared insights on transformation and innovation. The ensuing dialogue, moderated by Amelia Juhl, Country Manager Japan at Conservation International, fostered a rich exchange of ideas. Our sincere gratitude extends to Chizuru Muko-Iwasaki, Sustainability Director at WWD Japan, for co-hosting this significant event alongside our founder and Creative Director, Mona Jensen.

A central panel discussion, titled “Leading Responsibly. How Can Brands Create a Sustainable Future?” prompted reflections. In an era of uncertainty, we perceive a clear reason to reinforce what Tom Wood stands for. We believe luxury transcends mere excess. It is defined by values. By meticulous care. By a commitment to progress. It is about crafting something enduring—in both design and its wider impact.

The evening was a testament to collaborative spirit. We thank every individual who joined us, contributing to a memorable and meaningful gathering.
Friends, collaborators, and respected companies—each plays an integral role in forging a more thoughtful and impactful path forward. At Tom Wood, we are committed to being part of this change.
